TemissionotheUnitedWayoGreaterWilliamsburgCommunityResourceCenterCRCistoprovideassistanceinasaeandsecureenvironmenttoGreaterWilliamsburgresidentswhoacesignifcantfnancialconstraintsorburdensthathindertheirabilitytoprovidebasicneedsorthemselvesandtheiramilies.Servicesincludedirectfnancialorin-kindassistanceorrentoodclothingshelterutilitybillstransportationurnitureandmedicalneeds.TeCRCactsasanintakecenterandprovidesreerralsorservicessuppliedbyFISHGroveChristianOutreachSt.BedeCatholicChurchSalvationArmyLackeyFreeClinicandVirginiaEmploymentCommissionamongothers.TeCRCalsopartnerswithvarioushumanserviceprovidersthatsupplyassistanceon-siteatleastonceamonthincludingConsumerCreditCounselingWoundedWarriorstaedbyAmeriCorpsandtheVirginiaPeninsulaFoodBank.EachyeartheUnitedWayCommunityResourceCenterparticipatesinanAnnualAdoptaFamilyHolidayProgram.ResourceCenterstaassemblesalistoamiliesthatareinneedoassistanceandmatchthemtoindividualsandbusinessestoprovidegitsandood.Tisyearindividualsandlocalbusinessesadopted70localamilies.OtherservicesprovidedincludetheBacktoSchoolDriveandtheSNAPworksite.MuchthankstothePolyzosFamilyfortheirgeneroussupportoftheCommunityResourceCenter.CommunityResourceCenterTeGreaterWilliamsburgHousingCollaborativeacilitatedbytheUnitedWayisacollectiveohousingserviceprovidersservingcitizensintheGreaterWilliamsburgareawhocannotaordhousingandwhoneedassistanceinplanningorafnanciallystableuture.MembersotheCollaborativemeetmonthlytosharehousingresourcesinormationandexpertise.TeCollaborativeseekstobuildanetworkoserviceproviderstobetterservethehomelessandprecariouslyhousedintheGreaterWilliamsburgcommunity.OrganizationsbelongingtotheHousingCollaborativeincludeAvalonCenterorWomenandChildrenHousingPartnershipsJamesCityCountySocialServicesSalvationArmySt.BedeCatholicChurchWilliamsburgHumanServicesYorkCountyDivisionoHousingandNeighborhoodDevelopmentandWilliamsburgChristianChurch.HousingCollaborativeTeUnitedWayoGreaterWilliamsburgGuestHouseRe-entryProgramprovidesstablehousingandsupportservicestopreviouslyincarceratedmenseekingtomakeasuccessultransitionromincarcerationtocommunity.Whileintheprogramresidentsworktowardgoalstoincreasetheirlikelihoodosuccessulre-entrylikeremainingsoberandsavingortheuture.Eachresidentmustlookorandsecureemploymentperormcommunityserviceresolvecourtfnesandpaychildsupportobligations.Sinceitsinceptionin2011there-entryprogramhasgrownthroughsupportromtheVirginiaDepartmentoCriminalJusticeandcurrentlyhasthecapacitytohouseninemenandthreehousemanagers.Re-entryProgram
