Thank You to all who supported United Way of Greater Williamsburg in 2013! We are truly blessed by the outpouring of support we receive at United Way. So far we have raised over 1 million dollars in the 2013-14 campaign, the local churches have been incredibly generous helping with the financial support we give to our residents at the resource center, we received so many in-kind gifts (coats, food, gift cards, Christmas presents, etc) to benefit our residents in need, we have over 850 volunteers who helped in so many areas, and many businesses and organizations have sponsored our many events. We can’t say thank you enough! We are very grateful and know that we are fortunate to be in a community where so many care. We are planning for the 2014 year. Our Resource Center has added a couple of new partners including the Peninsula Food Bank and Colonial Community Corrections Re-entry Specialist. Our Re-entry Housing Program and the Housing Collaborative are hoping to show great progress in the new year. We will be evaluating our customer service at the Resource Center and we have two MBA Student groups working to help us do business more efficiently and effectively. One group of students is evaluating and consulting on the INTandem mentoring program and the other is looking at the Community Resource Center’s customer service, process flow and business model. Hard to keep up but it is so exciting to be part of an organization that is dynamic and responds to the needs of the community. I invite anyone in our Greater Williamsburg area to give us some feedback on our services and let us know about issues you think we should consider. Sharon Gibson-Ellis, Executive Director
