Social and Speaker Series
The Women’s Leadership Council Speaker Series addresses issues and interests important to women in Greater Williamsburg by inviting women leaders in our community to share their story. Contact Liz at liz.vestal@uwgw.org for more information.
Upcoming Speaker Series
Join the United Way Women’s Leadership Council for our next social and speaker series with Williamsburg Land Conservancy Executive Director, Caren Shumacher. Yankee Candle will be our host for the evening. Date and time are to be determined.
Wellness Symposium
The WLC hosted their first event, A Woman’s Quest Wellness Symposium, on November 9, 2013 at Kingsmill Resort to engage and inform women on a variety of health topics. Dozens of area health professionals and service providers came out to support the cause.
March Speaker Series
United Way Women’s Leadership Council members met in March to hear Karen Joyner, CEO of the Virginia Peninsula FoodBank. Karen shared her organization’s efforts to address the issue of food instability in Hampton Roads.
Women’s Leadership Council Chair
Robin Carson, retired General Manager of Kingsmill Resort, is the Chair of the United Way Women’s Leadership Council. Robin is a strong advocate for professional and community oriented women.
