Friday, September 19th, 2014 was this year’s Day of Caring (DOC). On this day, the United Way of Greater Williamsburg matched teams of dedicated volunteers to projects for various non-profit and public service agencies throughout the Greater Williamsburg community. This year, about 570 volunteers completed 43 projects located at 34 different sites to benefit our community, including landscaping at Child Development Resources, fence repair for Avalon, and trail maintenance at York River State Park.

We want to thank all the volunteers that were able to participate, the restaurants that donated food, and our Premier Sponsors for making this years Days of Caring possible. Donate Materials

Many Day of Caring projects require home and lawn care equipment and tools including paint, brushes, lumber, and cleaning supplies. If you or your company would like to donate materials for our Day of Caring Volunteers to use when completing their projects, please contact Liz Vestal at 757-253-2264.

Kickoff Breakfast

Each year the United Way Day of Caring Committee hosts a kick-off breakfast for all volunteers who are so giving of their time and effort. Look forward to food, volunteer t-shirts, entertainment, and fun! This year the volunteer breakfast will be held at Fort Magruder Hotel starting at 7:30 am. If you or your company would like to offer food or refreshments for the Day of Caring breakfast, please contact Liz Vestal at 757-253-2264.
